OUR WORK
WLCI has begun the process of enacting change. We have formed the Community Based Organisation and are consulting public authorities and the community leaders. The talking and planning has started. When everyone's inputs are heard and restoration plans are agreed, the business of implementing the restoration will begin. The process is circular. The results of actions on the ground will be reviewed yearly and fed back into the discussion and planning of the next restoration steps. WLCI is the forum for all stakeholders to make themselves heard and to understand how their part contributes to the bigger picture of of a sustainable and thriving wetland ecosystem.

Wetland Life Conservation Initiative was born out of the necessity to protect disappearing resources, restore lost wetland systems and ensure that the community's needs can be sustainably maintained. This Initiative is not only important for flora and fauna but also for the communities that rely on the Lake Mutanda wetland areas. As climate change increases weather extremes, the greater resilience provided by natural wetland systems is increasingly important to conserve.
